Howard Women’s Soccer Sweeps Grambling State University

The Howard University women’s soccer team defeated the Grambling State University Tigers on Friday, 1-0 victory match at Greene Stadium. This was The Howard Bison’s alumni night conference game which made the victory even more special.

Both teams fell short of a goal In the first half.

Senior, forward, Makela Davidson put the Bison on the board at the 59-minute mark.

Davidson was assisted on the goal by senior Marley Christian. Grambling State University put up a fight but the Lady Bison kept them at bay the entire game. Junior goalkeeper, Alayah Hightower, racked in a total of five saves on the Tigers. Hightower completed a perfect shutout against Grambling State University and was a key piece in the Bison’s iron defense.

In honor of alumni night, at halftime, the Bison acknowledged all returning alumni players on the field to celebrate the legacy of the program.
