Becoming a Bison is more than just being a college student. It is joining the legacy of remarkable Howard University students and graduates and one of the best decisions you’ll ever make! As the 63rd President, I am thrilled to bring you new initiatives, exciting events, and the best experience the Mecca can offer. Our administration is dedicated to you making an impact at Howard University! Now is the time to truly step out on faith and do whatever it takes to pursue your dreams, go out of your comfort zone, and above all, have fun!
As you begin your first year at Howard, I want to emphasize one piece of advice given to me: It’s ok to ask for help, but don’t wait until it’s too late. As someone who often struggles to ask for help, I want to encourage you to be better than me. Seek support when needed: your Bison family is here to help! There is no need to put yourself under unnecessary pressure and stress.
You are about to step into a place with like-minded individuals, the best and the brightest! While this may be intimidating, remember you belong at Howard and are here for a reason. People are waiting for the blessing that is you! We are here to assist you and to ensure you have a phenomenal journey here at the Mecca! Lastly, be open-minded and open to new experiences and people. Don’t let where you come from stop you from becoming who you’re supposed to be! Once again, welcome to the Mecca! We are so excited to watch you make an imprint on Howard University.
