Speak Out: What Are You Most Looking Forward To In The Last Few Weeks of School?

Cameron Kee, senior supply chain major and student-athlete from New Jersey. Age: 21

“I’m a senior so this is the last hurray. I graduate May 13th so the last month or so just really living it up with the people…having a good time, checking off anything I didn’t already do. Just really living in the moment.”

Savannah Bullard, sophomore nutritional major from Houston. Age: 19

“Probably just making some lasting memories with friends, this being my first year at Howard.

Savannah Blackwell, sophomore BFA musical theater major from Seattle, Washington. Age: 19

In these last few weeks, I’m definitely excited for the sun to come out. Like today, it’s a beautiful day. And darties. I’m really excited to get outside. I think springtime at Howard is just a beautiful way to see the community and see people pop out.”

Elena Smith, a sophomore English major, and economics minor from Philadelphia. Age: 20

Some things I’m excited for in the upcoming weeks of spring are seeing people on the Yard having picnics and hanging out listening to music.”

Lasky Loppe, freshman marketing major from Philadelphia, PA by way of Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

Definitely I’m most excited to see Springfest and all the creativities that young Black talented leaders and students bring together. I’m definitely looking forward to my internships that I got locked in and how Howard ends off the year.”

Moriah Hamilton, junior civil engineering major from Guyana. Age: 21

“I am excited for Springfest just because spring is my favorite time of the year and Howard originally had a history of making Springfest very fun for Caribbean people. One year they brought Machel Montano, so I’m hoping that we’ll have the same Renaissance theme of reinvigorating culture again on campus.”

Jacob Bryant, sophomore mechanical engineering major from Los Angeles, California. Age:20

“What I am most excited about for the end of the semester on campus is Springfest, it’s always a fun time. Academically, I am just buckling down on finals and getting those out the way so that I can finish out my second year strong.”

Jacqueline Buie, senior business management major from Capital Heights, Maryland. Age:21

“As a senior, I’m looking forward to the activities coming up, especially as the weather becomes warmer, however on a grander scale I am looking forward to closing this current chapter of my life and opening a new one at law school.”

Amaya Bruce, senior finance major from Bowie, Maryland. Age: 21

“I’m looking forward to graduating, obviously, but also just all the things that come with the end of my senior year; the senior picnic, senior week and taking senior pictures. Upon graduation I’m looking forward to starting my full-time role in leadership development at Marriott Corporate.”

Zachary Gist, sophomore biology major, chemistry minor from Chicago, Illinois. Age: 19

“Honestly, I am looking forward to the warm weather and events coming up towards the end of the school year. Howard’s weather has been very shaky for the past couple of months and it feels good knowing that it’s gonna be hot and sunny for at least three weeks”

Jason Evans, senior psychology major and criminology minor from New Orleans, Louisiana. Age:22

“I’m looking forward to finally seeing the culmination of all my work so far at the end of my college journey. The last four years have been a challenge especially with COVID-19 and being sent home so I am glad to have made it through with a positive attitude. Mostly, I am looking forward to attending graduate school at Alliant International University in San Diego upon graduation.”

Haley Lawson, sophomore computer information systems major from Columbia, Maryland. Age:20

“For the end of my sophomore year I am most excited to see the fruits of my labor and the outcome of all my hard work showing in my grades and upcoming opportunities.”
