In time for the highly anticipated Yardfest, Howard University announced that Neutrogena and brand ambassadors Chloe and Halle Bailey will make an appearance at the Meccaverse Homecoming 2022.

This Friday’s concert, beginning at noon, will serve as the first outdoor and fully in-person Yardfest the University has hosted since the start of the pandemic.

While it has been confirmed that Chloe and Halle Bailey will not be performing any of their songs, the Grammy-nominated sister duo will be working as team captains in the Bison Family Battle by Neutrogena, a new game that allows selected students a chance to share the stage with the artists to compete for prizes. The first round of the Bison Family Battle will start at 3 p.m.

Cecily Davis, a senior musical theater major from Atlanta, Georgia, and the 84th Miss Howard University, shared her excitement as she was selected to play in the Bison Family Battle game alongside the duo. “I’ve met them once before in Atlanta in my early teen years as they performed during the Still Waters Youth Sinfonia summer concert. Being a young violinist then and a Theater major now is such a full-circle moment. I just love to see black girls win.”

Skin-care company Neutrogena will be partnering with the University to present its pop-up event known as the Skin Lab by Neutrogena, hoping to provide attendees with product education and sampling to accommodate the needs of various skin types, according to a press release from the University. The Skin Lab will be open from noon to 6 p.m.

The press release also stated that, “Neutrogena will also utilize its presence at Yardfest to create lasting impact for the Howard student body and beyond.”

Participants at Yardfest will be encouraged to sign up for Hutano, a social health platform focused on providing health discussions, education and information on dermatology to Black and brown communities.  For every Hutano sign-up, a $2-per-sign-up donation to Howard University’s Department of Dermatology will be made by Neutrogena in support of its commitment to diversifying the future of dermatology.

In November, Neutrogena will return to Howard with dermatologist Dr. Hope Mitchell, who will speak on a panel with dermatologists from the Howard University Department of Dermatology, “sharing learnings and serving as inspiration to students as they collectively track toward making the field of dermatology more diverse and inclusive.”
