A Partnership With Purpose: Knicks Legend Allan Houston’s Brand, FISLL, Partners With Howard University

Two-time NBA All-Star and Olympic gold medalist, Allan Houston, will be bringing his leadership mentoring program, FISLL, to Howard University this fall. FISLL, a social impact brand that emphasizes faith, integrity, sacrifice, leadership and legacy, hopes to engage in constructive conversations with students through its partnerships with colleges and universities across the country.

Houston, a father of seven, says that the goal of the partnership is to “provide tools to help students find their calling through these conversations.” In addition, he hopes to expand what student brands have to offer. According to Houston, “We all have brands, but do they offer quality? It is one thing to have a product, but another to have a product that is undeniable.” The project website denotes that, “Through a mentoring initiative, hands-on workshops, and our digital platform, the FISLL Project engages youth in guided dialogue and structured activities designed to build trust, teach valuable life skills, enhance spiritual growth, and define success.”

Houston intends for the TEAM FISLL app to be a platform for their students to talk about and explore their stories and personal investments. Houston, the current vice president of leadership development for the Knicks, says that TEAM FISLL is “designed to help people invest in themselves so they can invest in others.” Houston hopes to begin cultivating relationships with students during his visit to Howard University in October, continuing in his dedication to amplifying young voices.

“I’m so excited about the history and the heritage of Howard.” Houston told Sports Illustrated. We will go into other HBCUs and institutions. It’s about involving the students and letting them participate in the process from beginning to end. Then, being able to help coach them along the way. Hopefully, they’ll take that information and these values, pass them on and give them back.

Allan Houston has sent a message to The Hilltop readers and Howard students.
