Almost two weeks after competing in the Italian Open and U.S. Open Tournament, Cori (Coco) Gauff has begun her quest for a title at Roland Garros in Paris, France.

Gauff, a dynamic tennis star, has shifted in the ranks and presented herself as a true competitor at only 16-years-old.

Of course, beating tennis legend Venus Williams is not a bad addition to her resume. However, in this year’s French Open, Gauff has entered in both the singles and doubles bracket. Her journey towards another single’s title was stopped short as she lost in the second round to Martina Trevisan of Italy, 6-4, 2-6, and 5-7.

She started strong, cruising through the first set 6-4, but her 19 double faults and low percentage service shots were key components in her match loss.

Yet, while a single’s title is no more in hindsight, Gauff will be competing with doubles partner Caty McNally in the tournament. Ranked No. 16 in the tournament, both women have a chance to redeem themselves and pursue a doubles title.

The pair have a history of fantastic wins in previous tournaments. Many will be looking forward to seeing what they can accomplish together during this year’s French Open.
