D.C. Brunch Chronicles

By Sonniya Springer, Life+Style Reporter (@slimmthedoll)

Brunch is the food phenomena that has taken over the nation’s capital over the last couple years. But what exactly is brunch? Brunch is a combination of breakfast and lunch usually eaten around 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on weekends, preferably on Sundays. The best part of brunch? Bottomless mimosas. For anyone under 21, brunch is still the move due to the energetic and overall happy vibe brunch brings. The best part about brunch? D.C. is filled with numerous brunch options.

Halfsmoke

651 Florida Ave NW, Washington, DC

At Halfsmoke, located only a few minutes from campus, brunch is served all day on the weekends. They offer free unlimited mimosas with a purchase of an entrée. Prices of entrees vary from $15 to $19. For those under 21, Halfsmoke also has tasty non-alcoholic drinks and milkshakes that will satisfy as well. The food is amazing. Halfsmoke’s reviews are 4 out of 5 stars and up. Along with the food being a hit, they have catchy names like the T-G-I-F Cinnamon Toast Crunch French Toast. The food too looks as pleasant as it taste. Halfsmoke has a ‘90s theme filled with board games, a photobooth, VHS boxes to receive the check and childhood character-decorated lunchboxes that the food comes in.

Bottomless brunch is only $35. To catch this, stop by from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm on Saturdays and/or Sunday.
