The Major League Baseball (MLB) American League champions, the Houston Astros, defeated the Major League Baseball National League champions, the Philadelphia Phillies, at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas. Game six of the World Series ended with a score of 4-1, ending the series between the Astros and the Phillies 4-2 which cemented the Astros as World Series champions.

This is the Houston Astros’ fifth world series appearance and second World Series title in six years since their cheating scandal back in 2017. The Astros also ended up receiving their fifth American League pennant this season after defeating the New York Yankees in the Major League Baseball American League Championship.

Prior to their World Series victory, the Houston Astros made postseason Major League Baseball history when the team’s pitchers were able to come together to execute a game with no-hitters in game four.

The Houston Astros started this off-season as champions, and their first move was parting ways with James Click who is now the team’s former General Manager. The owner of the Astros, Jim Crane, has not yet announced his new hire for the position but there are many predictions being made. With the World Series finally coming to a close, the sports world now transitions into the next big event everyone has been waiting for, the Fifa World Cup.

The Fifa World Cup will begin on Nov. 20 in Qatar which will be considered the twenty-second edition of the tradition that takes place every four years bringing together national soccer associations worldwide. The World Cup will start off with group phase games to be played between Nov. 20 to Dec. 2. The elimination phase will be between Dec. 3 and Dec. 18.

Sixty-four games are set to be played at the Fifa World Cup this year at eight different stadiums. The last Fifa World Cup took place in 2018 when France defeated Croatia in Russia. According to CBS Sports, Brazil predicted many fans and citizens of Qatar to win the Fifa World Cup this year. The World Cup is arguably the most viewed sports event in history generating billions of views. It will be exciting to see which country comes out on top this year.
