In an official email sent to The Hilltop by Howard University Student Association Executive President Allyson Carpenter, Jordan Roper, who served as HUSA’s vice president, has stepped down effective today.

“Jordan was and will always be an important and valued part of our administration,” said Carpenter. “I am so grateful for his leadership and support since the campaign and I look forward to working with him in an unofficial capacity.

According to HUSA, Roper will maintain his role on vital Howard University committees where he’ll be continuing his fight for fair tuition for all students.

“Jordan has been an amazing friend and committed leader. I’ve learned so much from him and wish him the best,” said Carpenter.

The Hilltop reached out to Roper for comment regarding this announcement and did not receive a response.
