Washington, D.C.: It’s that time again! The 2016 AT&T Nation’s Football Classic featuring Howard University vs Hampton University, also known as the All For The Real HU Battle, is taking place this Saturday at RFK Stadium.

Although the game is the main event of the weekend, this classic meeting between Howard and Hampton will not just end on game night. On Sunday, both schools will participate in the #HashtagLunchbagDC nonprofit charity event.

#HashtagLunchbagDC is a branch of the #HashtagLunchbag nationwide nonprofit organization, established in Los Angeles in 2012. Since then, several branches have developed across the country, packing and distributing free lunches to the homeless every last Sunday of the month.

“We’ve asked students from both Howard University and Hampton University to volunteer at this event” said James Thompson, a committee member of #HashtagLunchbagDC.

“Team players, fraternities, royal court members, faculty and volunteers in the area are all welcome to help as well.”

The volunteer meeting place is at Bar Louie located in Gallery Place-Chinatown, Washington, D.C., at 11:00 a.m. on September 18. Following the initial meet, volunteers will branch out to different homeless shelters in the area to drop of lunch bags, as well as handing them out on the street.
